My Morning Routine

Hey guys!
My morning routine is pretty straight forward.
I don't use many products at all as I feel that it's too time consuming especially when you don't have a lot of time in the mornings.

There are 7 steps to my routine:

1. I brush my teeth with euthymol toothpaste using a normal tooth brush - some people really despise this toothpaste because of it's strong taste. However, if you overlook the slight tingling feeling it gives, this toothpaste really does get the job done and your mouth feels squeaky clean afterwards.

2. For my body, I use the Simple bar soap with my African net sponge

3. On my face, I use the Superdrug 2-in-1 Detoxifying Cream Wash & Mask from their Deep Action range. I apply this to a wet face then I rinse this off with warm water and pat dry with a face towel

4. I then apply the Superdrug Deep Cleansing Lotion also from their Deep Action range to a cotton pad and wipe it over my face in an upward motion

5. To moisturise my face and body I use the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion with naturally active colloidal oatmeal, although the way I apply it on my face is slightly different as I dot the moisturiser on my face before rubbing it in, in an upward motion to avoid premature wrinkles. I find that this technique leaves my face feeling softer and more moisturised. I'm not a big fan of spray deodorants as I find the smell can sometimes be unpleasant and the spray can sometimes cause a burning feeling. So instead I use a roll-on deodorant from MUM.

6. I use carmex on my lips to keep them moisturised and to protect them from sunlight as it contains spf15 or to protect my lips from dry, windy weather.

And there you have it, my everyday morning routine.

DISCLAIMER: The products mentioned in this post are what I use and what works for ME. By no means am I saying you should go out and buy these products!

The Race Is Not For The Swift! | Thoughtful Thursdays

Hey guys,
I hope you are all well
This post came to mind as I was reflecting on my life and some of the things I see on an everyday basis
Today, my focus is on the race not being for the swift but rather for the slow and steady
I'm sure most of us are familiar with story of the hare and the tortoise and how the hare thought that he could win the race simply because he was faster.
A lot of the time we compare our own progress to that of our friends and family
I am definitely guilty of this crime and I used to compare myself so much that at a point, I went from making slow but gradual progress to being completely stagnant
I would compare my grades to what my friends got at school, I would lower my own self esteem when all my friends went to university a year before me, and even when I started university and decided that I may not necessarily be on the right path for where I aspire to be in the future, I condemned myself all the more because everyone else seemed to have it all figured out and I was constantly changing my mind
I know there are lots of people that compare themselves for similar reasons or maybe even different reasons but the best advice I could ever give to anyone is to focus on your own race
It doesn't matter how long you take to finish the race and what hurdles you may encounter as you head for the finish line, the most important thing is that you finish that race
Although I am fully aware that this is easier said than done and I do still find myself feeling down sometimes because of this, my source, drive and motivation to keep going regardless of anyone else's progress is that one day I will get to where I want to be and the only way that will happen is if I carry on.

I hope this helped and encouraged somebody

Make Up Storage - The Cheaper Alternative

Most people jumped on the band wagon of purchasing the acrylic make up storage from Muji or eBay.
I'd be telling a lie if I said I wasn't one of the people who looked into it
However, one day I was in my local asda and I spotted these storage drawers and they made such perfect sense to me
I couldn't fathom forking out £25 on the acrylic storage when I could purchase this one which has more space for 1/5 of the price.
After a lot of contemplating, I decided to buy two as my make up collection is still very much in its growing stage
My make up is finally organised and separated in logical compartments.
I also purchased two ceramic tumblers which are actually meant for liquid hand soap in the bathroom but it's the perfect size to hold my make up brushes and gives the brushes a nice new chic home rather than being left helplessly on my dressing table.

It's so much more fun putting make up on when you know where everything is rather than having it sprawled out in front of you and not knowing which item to pick up.

My Birthday Post

Hey guys,
I'd like to start this post with an apology.
I know I promised to upload a manicure Monday post joint with my end of birthday week outfit, however once again I got too caught up in the moment and forget to take any full pictures.
I did manage to take a few when I got home but the quality wasn't that great as the pictures were taken on my phone.
I will still insert the pictures. I managed to find one nice picture from the day of my actual birthday which I will also insert and a picture of my nails.

Apologies once again and I promise to take pictures at the start of the day/event from now one.

This was the day of my actual birthday, I chose to keep the outfit quite simple wearing a short sleeve chiffon kaki green blouse paired with dark navy blue ripped jeans and my chesunt uggs with a leather jacket.

For my birthday I chose to do a pink toned nude with a barbie glittery pink on my ring finger
Apologies for my crusty hand lol

Please excuse the extremely oily face lol

Manicure Monday!

Apologies for this being late as the title of the post is called Manicure Monday
I celebrated my birthday on Tuesday and because of this I actually did get my nails done on Monday
I had intended to do a post on my outfit of the day but I realised I didn't actually take any full pictures
I will be doing a post on my end of birthday week outfit on Monday so I will incorporate my nails into that post so please look out for that
Anyway, for the first time, I didn't really celebrate my birthday. I decided to use it as a day to reflect and also be grateful for how far I've come
I feel becoming a year older and no longer being a teen, there's a higher demand to be more mature and to handle situations in a more adult manner than you're used to
I'm excited for what this chapter in my life has to bring because I've decided to live in my way that doesn't embrace negativity of any kind
Let's see what the chapter has in store

Initial Review: Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set

What better way to start off my first post than doing a beauty review?
After a lot of 'umming' and 'ahhing' I finally decided to purchase the Zoeva luxury rose golden set.

Zoeva is a German brand that was founded in 2008. The brand originally started with just 10 brushes but now has 3 collections and many brushes that can be sold separately.

I watched endless youtubers talk about the set, saying how soft it was and it improved the application of make up that I just couldn't resist the temptation any longer.

I love the fact that the delivery period is so short. It only took 5 days!

I absolutely love the packaging, the cardboard box that it came in has their quote and logo on it

Then inside the box, the tissue paper used to wrap it is also customised with the logo and the brushes are placed inside bubble wrap

The actual packaging/make up brush bag has beautiful rose gold detailing on the zip and the appliqué.

The rose gold detailing on the brushes is gorgeous and gives them a vintage look. The set comes with five face brushes: powder brush, foundation brush, concealer brush, contour brush and blush brush.

It also comes with three eye brushes: definer brush, crease brush and winged liner brush

I'm so excited to use them and give you a review on them.
