Manicure Mondays | Neutrals

This week's nail colour is a very neutral cool tone brown
It is the Barry M nail paint in Mushroom.
I've had this shade for quite a while but I never realised just how much I liked it
It matches my skin tone nicely without looking like a dirty brown and has slight grey undertones when seen up close.
There's not much to about this shade other than I'll definitely be rocking it a lot more especially during spring as it won't clash with other colours

Bake of the Week | My New Brunch Addiction

OH MY GOODNESS!
I cannot explain how in love I am with this meal
Just writing about it is making me so hungry

This may not be everyone's cup of tea but I absolutely love it
I got the inspiration from this video:

The only variations I made were, instead of using ciabatta bread, I used an olive loaf and instead of drizzling olive oil on the bread, I used olive infused butter.

Here's my take on the meal:

Sunkissed Bronzer in Dark - The Best Contour Powder

I've been on the hunt for a contour powder that is actually dark since Sleek no longer do the face contour kit in dark.
One day my friend Cassandra from Coco London on youtube and I popped into our local Primark and wondered over to the beauty and make up section.
She was looking through the bronzers and we found a bronzer in the shade 'dark'
This bronzer actually gives me life every time I use it!
It comes with two shades, one is extremely dark and is actually the perfect shade for contouring and the other shade I'm guessing is for bronzing.
I use the second shade to tone down the contour if it sometimes looks dramatic or too harsh.
Who would have ever thought Primark would be the home of my new found love?

My Paris Weekend...

This is a cheeky little holiday post I thought I'd throw in as I'm trying to post everyday this week to make up for lost time.
Last weekend I was lucky enough to go to Paris for a short but well needed and appreciated break.
I haven't been to France in 5 years so it was definitely breath taking all over again
I got to take in the Parisian air once again and I loved it.
I had a good time and enjoyed good jazz music which I loved and I got to see parts of Paris that I hadn't visited on my previous trip.
I will definitely be going to Paris again in the near future as there's some much I now want to do
I have realised though that I'm sort of a traditional Ghanaian when it comes to holidays as I didn't
I'll be making a holiday destination wishlist soon and hopefully I can visit all of these places one day.

Manicure Mondays | The Grey Edition

I know I haven't been consistent with this series on my blog BUT I genuinely forgot to do an update when I get my nails redone.
After nearly 4 months of having acrylic nails consistently, I cannot explain to you just how free my hands feel now that I've got my natural nails.
I'll definitely be staying away from acrylic nails for a while as the longer the get, the more they stress my hands out.
So, on my last appointment in the nail shop i opted to for a grey colour on my nails and immediately fell in love with it.
I feel as though grey compliments my complexion so well.
Knowing that I was going to get my acrylics taken off, I was on the hunt for a grey nail polish.
I stumbled across Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Chai and I just had to pick it up.
I'm in love with this colour and I'll definitely be getting a lot of us out of it.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Chai - £3.99
I love Barry M nail polishes and I am definitely looking to expand my fast growing Barry M collection.
Now that I have my natural nails, I'll be able to do Manicure Monday posts every week as I can change my nail colour as frequently as I like.

My Updated Morning Routine

My morning routine hasn't changed too much.
I've just eliminated some of the products and replaced them with new ones which are working much better for me.

1. I brush my teeth with euthymol toothpaste using a normal tooth brush - some people really despise this toothpaste because of it's strong taste. However, if you overlook the slight tingling feeling it gives, this toothpaste really does get the job done and your mouth feels squeaky clean afterwards.

2. For my body, I use the Simple bar soap with my African net sponge

3. On my face, I use the Simple Moisturising Face Wash from their Kind to Skin. I apply this to a wet face then I rinse this off with warm water and pat dry with a face towel. I stopped using the Superdrug 2-in-1 Detoxifying Cream Wash & Mask just because I felt it as a little harsh on my skin at times.

4. I use the St. Ives Invigorating Scrub 4 times a week. Once this does run out I will be purchasing the St. Ives Blemish Control Scrub just because I have oily skin and I feel this will cater better to my skin type because it will help unclog my pores and remove dead skin cells and bacteria that causes spots and blemishes.

5. I then apply the Superdrug Deep Cleansing Lotion from their Deep Action range to a cotton pad and wipe it over my face in an upward motion. I may not repurchase this product as I want to try out the Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion.

6. Following on from this, I use Simples Soothing Facial Toner also from their Kind to Skin range. I apply this using a cotton pad as well.

7. To moisturise my face and body I have started using the Garnier Intensive 7 day Body Lotion Cocoa Butter. I really love the way this product makes my skin feel. It definitely does moisturise my skin without leaving that greasy feeling that I can't stand. I didn't repurchase my Aveeno moisturiser simply because I didn't feel like it was hydrating and moisturising my skin the way I wanted it to.

8. I use a roll-on deodorant from MUM.

9. I use carmex on my lips to keep them moisturised and to protect them from sunlight as it contains spf15 or to protect my lips from dry, windy weather.

And there you have it, my updated morning routine.

DISCLAIMER: The products mentioned in this post are what I use and what works for ME. By no means am I saying you should go out and buy these products!

Know Who You Are / Know Your Worth | Thoughtful Thursdays

So once again we've come to a topic so dear to my heart
In fact, whilst writing this I'm a little bit teary eyed
Initially when I thought of this post, it was aimed at females but I realise that it applies to both males and females.
1. Don't change to impress any guy or girl
I feel like in our generation this is a very big problem that many of us encounter at one stage or another. I cannot stress enough that there will one day be that guy or girl that likes and eventually loves you for the real you.
So many times we try to change who we are in order to keep the person we like happy or to try and get their attention. I can't lie, this is something I used to do and still find myself doing sometimes.
2. Don't try and change to fit in with your boys
This is something that I don't think can happen straight away and requires gradual development. So many times, I see guys forcing to be like the guy who sleeps with lots of girls or the guy that makes the most money in that group. There is nothing wrong with being who you are! Be content with what you have.
3. Don't let 'friends' hold you back
This is one that really gets to me. Especially at university, everyone will try and be your friend and you won't really see their true colours until a situation occurs. If you can see that someone you call a friend is not behaving in that way, I'm not saying cut them off but be smart with the actions you take around them. It's really not about who you've known the longest anymore because the person you've known the longest could be the person that stabs you in the back the hardest.
4. Don't let words speak louder than actions
This is something I know a lot of females find difficult. If you're anything like me, you'll be easily swayed by the words of a guy and even if he's treating you like you're a side chick, you'll ignore his actions and listen to words. Ladies, this is dangerous, you are so much better than this. This is something I am still trying to deal with and I'm thankful that I'm getting better at dealing with these situations.

These are just a few things that I could think of when this title came to mind.
The long and short of this post is that, you don't need to change who you are for anyone else but yourself and you don't need to do what everyone else is doing to fit in.
You are worth more than money can buy and being the best version of you is the only thing you should be!

KIKO Mat Base Corrector Primer | Initial Review

I have the most oily skin ever! It's actually ridiculous
I decided to finally pick up this primer because I've heard so many youtubers rave about it and read so many blog posts on it
I have to say, I finally get what all the hype is about
When I say my skin is oily, it's so oily that after an hour or so my t-zone starts producing oil and by the end of the day, my face literally looks like it's been dipped in a bowl of oil
I picked this product up on Saturday and used it on Sunday.
This product works wonders!
I've definitely changed my perspective on primers after using this.
I applied a small amount to my t-zone, cheeks and chin before applying my Lancôme Teint Idole 24H foundation. I then set my face as normal using my MAC Mineralise Skin Finish powder.
For the first time in a long time I was able to wear make for 11hours without having to powder my face during the day.

KIKO Mat Base Corrector Primer - £8.90

My only negative about this product is that, if you apply too much, it makes you look like you have dry patches on your face.
Other than that, it's a great product and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with oily skin.
